Here’s how we work:
1. Human-Centered Creation
At Lovely Harbor™, every piece of content begins and ends with real human creativity.
Our articles, photographs, and design concepts are created, reviewed, and approved by our in-house team of authors, editors, and designers.
We use technology, including AI tools, responsibly, only to support and enhance human creativity, never to replace it. These tools may assist with ideation, drafting, language refinement, or visual exploration, but the ideas, direction, and final decisions always come from people.
Each topic is assigned to a human author who develops the concept, creates the content, and collaborates with an editor through a structured review process. Editors refine, and evaluate every piece before publication. When needed, editors may reject or return drafts back to the author for revision, ensuring that only content meeting our quality and integrity standards is approved for publication.
2. Rigorous Editorial Process
Our in-house editorial system documents every step of content creation, from first draft to final approval, ensuring full traceability, eventual image licensing information, transparency, and accountability for all articles and images.
This iterative workflow includes author revisions, editorial reviews, and quality checks at multiple stages following an highly iterative creative process. Through this process, we guarantee that every published work meets the highest standards of accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity.
3. Visual Content
Visuals featured on Lovely Harbor™ include a carefully curated mix of:
- Real photographs, taken in-house or sourced/licensed responsibly.
- Digitally enhanced or edited imagery, used to improve clarity and presentation.
- AI-assisted conceptual designs, created under human direction to visualize innovative and achievable ideas.
When AI or digital tools are used, they serve solely as creative aids to help us express original human ideas and inspire readers. These visuals are never intended to mislead or depict false realities. Every image, regardless of its source, is reviewed, approved, or rejected by our creative team prior to publication.
4. Editorial Team
All content on Lovely Harbor™ is created by our in-house editorial team.
Our contributors bring real-world expertise in home and garden decor/design, and communication.

5. Editorial Independence
We maintain full editorial independence, ensuring that all content reflects our standards of accuracy, creativity, brand voice, and integrity.
6. Our Commitment
We are dedicated to producing content that is:
- Authentic – conceived, written, and reviewed by real people.
- Ethical – aligned with our ethical values and respect for our audience.
- Innovative – combining human creativity with modern tools responsibly.
Technology helps us work smarter, but human expertise and creativity remain at the heart of everything we do.
Every article, image, and idea reflects our mission: to inspire a comfortable, creative, and beautiful home.
Our editorial motto: Human-made ideas. Real creativity. Responsible use of technology.
7. How We Assess House Plans
House plan articles are written from the designer’s measured drawings and elevations, not from the marketing description supplied with the listing.
We hold to the following, and you can check us against them:
- Every dimension we publish appears on the drawings. We do not estimate, round for readability, or present an approximation as a specification. Where a plan’s own documentation conflicts, we resolve it and say which figure we used.
- We report unheated area separately. Porches, garages, lofts and unfinished bonus rooms are named as their own square footage rather than folded into the heated total, because they are built at full cost and do not count the same way on an appraisal.
- We name the running cost of a design move. Volume, glazing and exposed assemblies carry consequences that a floor plan does not show, and we state them even when the plan is one we recommend.
- We never publish a construction cost or a cost per square foot. Those figures depend on your lot, your market and your builder. We tell you what to price separately; we do not invent a number.
- We say what we have not seen. We assess drawings. Unless we state otherwise, we have not visited a built example of the plan, and our assessment says so.
- We disclose the commercial relationship. Links to plan marketplaces are affiliate links and earn us a commission at no additional cost to you. No designer or marketplace reviews our assessments before publication, and none has editorial input.
